Our Mission

Project Vortex is a non-profit organization committed to salvaging and transforming debris from our oceans into works of art and design.  Our primary focus is to prevent and counteract local pollution as we work toward our long-term goal of eliminating the gyres of debris in our oceans.  Project Vortex is collaborating with coastal clean up organizations, and Project Kaisei, a team of international scientists who have been traveling to the Pacific Trash Vortex to determine the best way to safely extract the plastic debris from the ocean without harming sea life.

Our mission is to re-use and transform plastic debris as it is removed from our oceans and shorelines, thereby ensuring that it never goes back into the waste stream.
